Synopsis: Piratenkapitän Pedro Valverde (Rik Battaglia)

| Synopsis: Set
in the 16th century, the film casts Flynn as a British naval officer
unjustly condemned for desertion. He escapes punishment and joins
Anthony Quinn's pirate band, wherein he and Quinn vie for the
attentions of glamorous female buccaneer Maureen O'Hara. Flynn incurs
O'Hara's wrath when he rescues a lovely middle-eastern princess (Alice
Kelley) from slave traders, but O'Hara still comes to Flynn's aid when
he is left to die by Quinn. Flynn and O'Hara team up to thwart Quinn's
evil schemes, whereupon it is revealed that Flynn's "disgrace" was a
ruse, concocted by the British government to stem pirate activities in
Madagascar. |

Synopsis:
LaRochelle, a former pirate captain, is
caught by the British. To get his ship back, he works as a spy against
other pirates, first of all Blackbeard and Providence. He works on
some ships, crossing the Caribbean sea, with the intention of being
enchained, when a pirate ship is in sight, to make them believe he's
an enemy of the British. One day, his ship is conquered by Captain
Providence. What nobody knew before, Providence is a (beautiful, of
course) woman. She believes his story and so he joins her crew. But
Blackbeard, her fatherly friend, doesn't believe him. Providence and
LaRochelle fall in love, although he is married. When LaRochelle tries
to deliver her to the British, she forebodes the trap, kidnaps his
wife and escapes. As for revenge, she wants to sell his wife on a
slave-market. LaRochell gets his ship and his crew back and follows

Life under the sun of the

seems to haunt the islands... probably that of Anne Providence, the
tough adopted daughter of the sadly notorious Blackbeard. During the
capture of a British ship, she spares the life of young
Pierre-François, a Frenchman claiming to be a corsair made prisoner.
Swashbuckler films have long been a Saturday-night favourite of
cinemagoers, delighting both parents and children. With its stunning,
purple-marked Technicolor, "Anne of the Indies" is a classic of the

soleil des Antilles, la vie n’est pas si calme. Car l’ombre d’un
capitaine de pirates plane sur les îles… Il s’agit de la redoutable
Anne Providence, fille adoptive du tristement célèbre Barbe-Noire. Au
cours de la capture d’un navire anglais, elle laisse la vie sauve à un
jeune français, Pierre-François, qui se prétend corsaire et prisonnier.
Les films de pirates ont fait les délices du cinéma du samedi soir,
réunissant dans un même enthousiasme enfants et parents. "La
Flibustière des Antilles", en superbe Technicolor maculé de pourpre,
est un classique du genre. |

| Synopsis:
Spaniards fighting against North-American Indians. Pedro (Rick
Battaglia) is a pirate who has specialised in marriages: 7 rich
daughters in a row, always running away with the money (he is
"captured" by his crew). Guy Madison wears a moustache and plays the
evil and treacherous governor Alfonso. Both are fighting over the
truly beautiful Indian princess Soledad (Ingeborg Schoen - what a
sight!) who is heir to an immense treasure. The situation becomes more
complicated when she falls in love with Pedro, displaying her whims
until the end of the film: she first favours Rick, but then questions
his valour because he is a pirate and thus suddenly wants to marry Guy
a.s.o.. Tasario (Mino Doro) plays her Indian bodyguard, the only
person she trusts. |
