Synopsis:
The King of Kamroo having heard the
praises of the youth and beauty of Rajkumari Chanda, makes his way
towards earth via Moon on the occassion of her birth-day and presents
a gift. Having seen the miracle of the gift the brother of Rajkumari
Raja Naagsen makes the magician the Royal guest. At night the Gini
comes out of the gift and makes away with Rajkumari. The magician
becomes very happy and returns to his Jaddonagari. A grappler by name
dipoo kills the Gini and save Rajkumari. The message of love and youth
are exchanged through the medium of eyes. Raja Naagsen becomes much
worried owing to disappearance of Rajkumari. In the meantime Rajkumari
returns with Dipoo. BY way of reward Dipoo asks for Rajkumar. During
discussion it comes to light that there is a prolonged enemity between
Dipoo and the King. King orders for the arrest of Dipoo but Dipoo with
his bravery comes out from the beehive.
Raja is mad after the Royal Dancer 'Kala' at her graceful walk, sweet
talk, and graceful actions. Rani Kundala having found no love from
husband is much worried. Raja attacks on Dipoo. Rajkumari asks for
pardaon of Dipoo from her Sister-in-law. But when her Sister-in-law
tells her that there was a danger for the life of her husband also,
Rajkumari reaches that place where Dipoo intends killing the King. Due
to Rajkumari's apperance Dipoo is wounded and king rungs away. The
Royal Dancer Kala starts liking Dipoo owing to his bravery and in
order to make Dipoo a slave she plays a trick. She goes to Dipoo and
at the same time Rajkumari who had hidden herself misunderstands the
affair.
Rajkumari gets his own tour arrested. The time also changes like
season. The mystry is revealed by means of a ring. Rajkumari gets
Dipoo releases under the guise of a dance. But Kala gets him arrested
in right occassion. At the order of court Dancer Dipoo is blinded.
Rajkumari does not want to leave the company of Dipoo. By the order of
king both are declared as traitors and they are externed from the
town.
How Dipoo gets his eye sight back? What calamities were faced by
Rajkumari? What approssians were practiced by the magieian? What
happende to the King and Queen? And what happend to Court Dancer?

"Attila - Die Geißel
Gottes" ist ein wenig zu schmalzig und kitschig gewordener
Historienepos, welcher nicht ganz der Starbesetzung, wie Anthony Quinn
als Attila und Sophia Loren als Honoria, die intrigante Schwester des
Kaisers, gerecht wird. Fragwürdige Textzeilen wie z.B.: "Heute Rom,
morgen die Welt!", sind icht nur im heutigen Kontext der Geschichte
etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die "New York Times" nannte den Film damals
"einen sinnlosen Quatsch an Brutalität und Frömmigkeit", was heute
sich nicht unbedingt gebessert hat. Das man sich den Film dennoch
recht gut ansehen kann liegt mitunter an einem möglichen Interesse an
älteren Historienfilmen und die Starbesetzung des Films. Schließlich
sollte man keine heutigen Maßstäbe an einen 50 Jahre alten Film legen.

Synopsis:
In 42 BC Rome is in the middle of a civil
war. Together with his friend AGRIPPA, the young Augustus goes to
Spain in order to help JULIUS CAESAR in his struggle against the
troops of POMPEY. Even though they are outnumbered, they manage to
defeat Pompey. Caesar honours his adopted son Augustus with a
triumphal entry into Rome and then sends him to Greece together with
his friends Agrippa and Maecenas. There, Augustus hears the news of
Caesar's assassination and he returns to Rome with his friends. Back
in Rome, he is able to gain both the support of the people and
political power. In his struggle with the conspirators against Caesar
he finds an ally in MARC ANTONY. Marc Antony not only pursues BRUTUS
and CASSIUS, he also initiates a wave of executions which practically
eliminates the old Roman ruling class. Among those who are killed is
the husband of LIVIA DRUSILLA, a woman with whom Augustus had been in
love as a young man. Through a combination of good luck and chance,
Augustus and Marc Antony are able to defeat the forces of Brutus and
Cassius at the battle of Phillipi. But now Augustus has to share his
empire with Marc Antony who, in the meantime, has become the lover of
the Egyptian queen CLEOPATRA. Augustus declares war on both of them
and after a successful military campaign he becomes the sole ruler of
the Roman Empire. During his rule, Rome not only experiences a period
of peace and prosperity, it is also an age in which both art and
culture flourish. His new wife Livia Drusilla becomes his most
important political advisor. It is she who discovers that IULLUS (the
son of Marc Antony and lover of Augustus' daughter JULIA) is plotting
to murder the emperor. |

soap opera, and thoroughly engaging at all levels. Peter O'Toole plays
Octavius/Augustus, heir to his doomed uncle Julius Caesar's command of
the far-flung Roman empire. Surviving an assassination attempt and
struck by news of the death of his old friend and ally, Agrippa (Ken
Duken), in the same day, Octavius waxes nostalgic about his youthful
exploits in Caesar's army (Benjamin Sadler plays the young Augustus in
flashbacks) and his unprepared immersion in the deadly politics of the
Mark Antony (Massimo Ghini) era. More immediate are Octavius' problems
trying to stave off conspiracies by his wife Livia (Charlotte Rampling)
to set up the emperor's stepson, Tiberius (Michele Bevilacqua), as
heir, and talk his dutiful daughter Julia (Vittoria Belvedere) into a
marriage she doesn't want. Roger Young (Jesus) directs this highly
watchable costume drama, and O'Toole's golden presence makes the
