Synopsis:
Curiosa sfida quella del Natale 2001: ben
due pellicole di animazione di produzione italiana contro il solito
lungometraggio Disney. In più, uno dei contendenti nostrani (Aida
degli alberi) è realizzato da Lanterna Magica, mentre l'altro (Momo
alla conquista del tempo) è diretto da Enzo D'Alò, che di quella
factory è stato uno dei fondatori. Dopo la coregia di Volere Volare (assieme
a Maurizio Nichetti), si può dire che questa sia la prima volta di
Manuli (un altro suo lavoro, Monster Mash, è rimasto inedito) e, per
l'occasione, il buon Guido ed Umberto Marino hanno pensato bene di
attingere alla leggendaria storia d'amore tra Aida e Radames,
facendone, però, una fiaba ecologica, con protagonisti due regni,
Arborea e Petra, perennemente in guerra. Il livello tecnico è
apprezzabile (non all'altezza, però, l'integrazione tra 3D - vedi il
brutto dio Satam - e tradizionale disegno bidimensionale); lo score di
Morricone è adeguato nel commento, ma floscio nelle canzoni; i
personaggi non sono del tutto memorabili (il che, specie se ti rivolgi
ai piccoli, è piuttosto grave). In definitiva, un prodotto di discreta
fattura con almeno un momento di grande resa artistica: i sessanta
secondi della battaglia.

Synopsis:
