IEEE 1394:
(Institute of Electrical and

|
HDTV:
High Definition Television. A television that is
capable of displaying 1080i (1080 x 1920) and/or

|
Component Video Output:
Divides the video signal into
three elements: luminance, which represents
brightness in the image, and separate red and blue
signals (expressed as either Y R-Y B-Y or Y Pb Pr).
Component video is superior to both composite and
S-video because it provides improved color purity,
superior color detail, and reduces NTSC artifacts.
This is a three-connector output from a video source
(such as a DVD player), or input on a Television.
Each signal is supplied on a separate colored RCA
cable for easy connection. |
|
|
S-Video:
S-Video keeps luminance (Y) (black and white) and
chrominance (C) (color) signals separate to take full
advantage of high resolution sources like: DBS satellite,
DVD & S-VHS. Better than a composite video connection, not
as good as component. |
|
Frame Synchronizer:
A Frame Synchronizer removes jitter from an
incoming analog source signal so your copies can appear
better-looking than the original. |
|
SAP:
SAP (Second Audio Program)
decodes any second language translation that may be part
of the program. |
|
VCR Plus+: VCR
time-shift recording feature system included in many
VCR's. Uses special Plus codes, (found in most channel
guides) multi-digit numbers that identify each broadcast
program, channel number, and time of broadcast. |
|
LS3 Mode: The D-VHS LS3 mode
(4.7 Mbps) can be used to make digital recordings of
analog NTSC broadcasts using the built-in MPEG2 encoder.
In this mode it is possible to record an amazing 24 hours
of programming on a single DF-480 video tape. (21
hours/DF-420, 15 hours/DF-300) |
|
STD Mode: The
D-VHS STD Mode (14.1 Mbps) can be used to digitally record
SD sources including 480p & 480i ATSC broadcasts. In this
mode it is possible to record up to 8 hours of SD content
using a DF-480 video tape. (7 hours/DF-420, 5
hours/DF-300) |
